American Idol, top 5...

Tonight each of the contestants sang two Neil Diamond songs. I have decided to not vote until the finale. The contest is at the point where there is really no one that I dislike and I would be happy with whomever the rest of America votes off or decides to send to the finale...it's wierd this year, last year at this time I was definitely rooting for Jordin and Blake. Yes, I still really like Jason and Brooke but they have done well to get as far as they have and I'm confident that they will have recording contracts and I will be able to buy their music.

As for tonight, I think overall the second round of songs was better than the first. The big surprise of the night for me was Syesha. I really liked both of her songs for different reasons.

Jason was just boring...I thought his second song was better than the first (September morn). I think these themed nights are bringing him down and he's having a hard time finding songs to fit his style. He needs to sing some John Mayer or something...

Brooke- second song was better (I am I said)...it's becoming more apparent to me that she is more of a singer/songwriter recording artist than a performer. She shines at the piano when she's not "out there" in front of everyone...even with the guitar she is more exposed. I still like her and she has a unique voice.

David Cook- I liked both of his songs but preferred the second one (All I really need is you) Like Syesha he's grown on me...i didn't like him at all in the beginning and now I can see him winning and that is okay with me.

David A- I preferred his second song (America), he is really a good performer...it's funny I prefer watching him over listening to him...is that wierd? When I download/listen to songs on itunes he doesn't sound as good as he does on the show...which is exactly how I felt about Taylor Hicks in season 5...I liked to watch him sing, but listening to him is boring! I really think Katharine Mc Phee should have won that year....

Syesha-I've already commented on her, this was a good night for her which means she'll probably go home....

Homegoing? Syesha, Jason, or Brooke

Winner? Just because i'm not voting doesn't mean I don't have a prediction....I predict that the finale will be David A and David C and David C will win.

Oh and what was up with Paula????
