American Idol Finale!

It's finally down to the two Davids. I'll call them DC and DA to make it easier.

Each contestant sang 3 songs, one Clive Davis picked, one was from the songwriter competition and the last song was their own pick.

My overall impressions:
round 1=DA
round 2=tie
round 3= DC

DC:
Clives pick was I still haven't found what I'm looking for by U2. This is one of my all time favorite U2 songs and I loved hearing DC sing it. I only wish he had put more energy and movement into it. He seemed somewhat reserved tonight.

The songwriter pick was Dream Big. I hated the song, it was boring and it sounds just like every other song out there. I think it was the wrong song for him to have picked.

DC's pick was the best one, The World I know by Collective Soul. I wasn't familiar with the song but I now love it and I loved DC singing it. I didn't agree with Simon, I think this is the perfect type of song for DC to sing.

DA:
Clives pick was Don't let the Sun go Down on Me by Elton John. I love this song. I remember Clay Aiken doing it season 2 and I believe that DA did it much better. DA did a much more honest version of the song!

The songwriter pick was In this Moment and once again I didn't care for the song but it was the perfect song for DA to sing. It was boring, similar to DC's second round.

DA's own pick was Imagine which he has already sang, and although it's a beautiful song and he sang it well I really liked his first version better, because it was the first we heard it from him. I prefer the contestants singing new songs (new for them in the contest.)

I thought that the boxing references/scenarios were dumb. I thought DA seemed more poised than usual, and it seemed that DC was not as happy as usual...he didn't seem to be trying as hard as usual.

Who will win? My personal choice is David Cook, but based on tonight's performances I'm afraid it may be David Archuleta who wins. I voted a couple of times for DA but the rest of my votes are going to DC!

Oh..and the best thing about tonight? The phone never rang once! Usually it rings off the hook...thank GOD for caller ID! Who would dare call someone during American Idol?
