Metabolism Makeover-ridding your body of toxins

Weight gain isn't just a result of overeating anymore...Environmental toxins can also cause weight gain. You can enhance your metabolism by detoxifying your liver. We learned about 5 tips to detox...you don't have to do all at once, doing any of them can impact your health now and in the future.

1. Sweat! A sauna or steam bath can reduce stress, balance the nervous system, burn calories, and help to excrete pesticides and heavy metals through the skin.

2. Foods that help detox the liver: Pomegranate, dandelion greens, garlic, cruciferous vegetables, green tea, cilantro, watercress, artichokes, and cocoa

3. Herbs: Milk Thistle and Green Tea

4. Supplements: Buffered Vitamin C with mineral ascorbates, Taurine, Glycine, N-acetylcysteine, Alpha Lipoic acid, Bioflavinoids, Pycnogenol.

5. Probiotics (Lactobacillus and Bifidobacter)--can help normalize bacteria in the intestines and reduce toxins produced by intestinal bacterial imbalances.
