What's the big deal with Taylor Swift?

Honestly I don't get it. I was watching some TIVO'd Nashville Star the other week (country's version of American Idol), and Taylor Swift performed. She is absolutely awful. She would never have made it past tryouts on American Idol! Then the Nashville Star judges proceeded to tell the younger contestants that they need to be more like Taylor Swift. Huh? There were only a couple of contestants on Nashville Star that were even worth listening to, but please don't tell them to be like Taylor Swift. Then there is the American Country Music awards or something like that a few weeks ago...there she was again performing and this time they poured water over her at the end of her performance (trying to make her more like Kelly Clarkson?), hello? She is 17 or 18, and acting like a wet tshirt model in front of die hard true country legends like George Strait? Then she got a standing ovation? I just don't get it. What is wrong with the music business?
She is essentially a teeny bopper trying to be a Paris/Lindsay/Brittany/Carrie morph like performer, and she has no talent. There is no comparison to the likes of Martina, Reba, Faith, Shania, or even Carrie Underwood who at least passed the Simon, Randy, Paula and America test that is American Idol. Gag me.

After watching her in a couple of YouTube videos, I can only agree wholeheartedly. How is she even considered Country? Because she has a slight twang in her voice? So does Kid Rock and nobody has ever accused him of being a country singer. Weird.
