A year older

That is me...I'm a year older today. Dennis and I had a discussion about birthdays this weekend. We decided that many of us as adults will say that "it's just another day" and that we don't "care whether we do anything special," but that we really don't mean it. What we really want is for someone to make us a birthday cake, sing Happy Birthday, and ask us to blow out the candles (making a wish of course). There is really nothing better than having a day that is all about you. I've always been one who hates being the center of attention and hates to be fussed over, (and many times I keep my birthday a secret from those who don't know it's my birthday) but it is nice to have that one day where other people celebrate the day you were born.

I didn't have birthday cake (a no no on south beach, of course) but I did cheat ALOT this weekend...more than I had planned. I had planned to go off the diet today for my birthday, but I didn't really plan to go off the diet on Friday and Saturday too! My birthday treat today was Dairy Queen (hot fudge sundae...YUM). I don't feel guilty at all, guilt is a wasted emotion. I will get back on the straight and narrow tomorrow.

As for birthday gifts I got money from my parents, a picture frame from my friend Joyce, and a Barnes and Noble gift card from Dennis.

Now all I need is some time off work to go shopping!
