Season 6 of The Biggest Loser started tonight. I love this show!
Why do I love it? For many reasons but first and foremost it inspires me. It also makes me feel better about myself when I realize that I am really not as fat as I think I am. I know that sounds strange...and even a bit self-indulgent to compare myself to people who are fatter than myself. It's not that I think I am better than they are, because if anything they are better than me because they are doing the work to lose the weight...not me.
They are the ones subjecting themselves to public weigh in's (I shudder at the thought) and boot camp never ending workouts ( I love Bob and Jillian --I would love for one or both of them to kick my butt)...not me.
This season they have family members as teams...a very interesting concept and I'm looking forward to seeing how they all do.
Memorable moments from tonight's show:
- One contestant had a mouth full of food when she found out she was going to be on the show. Ironic huh?
- The Doctor showing the contestants the negative effects of obesity on their health. He had visual's...which is very effective
- The oldest male on the show (Jerry)...stumbled off the treadmill...then his daughter/teammate won the hill climb challenge and won immunity for their team! Her Dad couldn't compete for medical reasons and she won all by herself. I cried!
Looking forward to the season...not sure how I'll keep up with all the new fall TV this season...Thank God for DVR!
