I hate it that I have to be in fear for my life every time I walk, bike, or drive on the roads. Whatever happened to drivers ed? Whatever happened to following the rules of the road. What about Pedestrians getting the right-of way.
Tonight I decided to combine my evening walk with a trip to Kwik Trip to buy the winning powerball ticket. I almost got hit by two different cars. Drivers that were not paying attention to what was going on around them.
In the last two weeks there have been two bicyclists hit by cars in the Twin Cities. One of them was killed, the other injured. In both cases the drivers left the scene and last I heard there were no witnesses and they hadn't found the drivers.
A couple of years ago a city bus driver hit and killed a rollerblader here in town.
After my near misses I thought how ironic that I'd have the winning powerball ticket and get killed on my way home. I wonder how long it would have taken them to find the winning ticket on my body?
Hrrrrmmmph!
