What is your shopping personality?
After spending an agonizing weekend at a local craft show and then the Mall, I have identified various different shopper personalities:
1. You blow into the store, mall, or locale of choice like a steamroller. You barge through the aisles, talking loudly to anyone who will listen. You don't move out of the way of others but instead ram into them if they don't get out of your way. You never use the phrases "excuse me," "please," or"Thank You."
2. You never shop alone. You always gather as many friends as possible to shop with you. There is no such thing as babysitters or day care on the days that you shop. You bring all of your children with you. Your friends have the same philopophy as you...and their children are dragged along also. Each one of you has at least one child that requires a stroller. Once in the store you refuse to split up....instead you choose to shop in all the same spots in the store. You gather in aisles looking at and talking about each item. You move VERY slowly and you are totally unaware of the shoppers around you. You are also completely unaware of the space that is required to maneuver all of the strollers around. You often choose to change diapers and pull ups right in the aisle...Lord knows you don't want to miss any of the converstations with friends by leaving the group to go use the restroom for child hygiene matters.
3. You breeze into the store with a plan. You have a time limit for shopping today. You have your watch on or cell phone handy with plans to be heading back to your car at a certain time. You leave your winter coat in the car and your purse is light and hangs easily on your shoulder. Comfort is the name of the game. You are not a browser or a lingerer. You move quickly through the stores scanning left, right, up and down. You only stop when something catches your eye. When something catches your eye you stop, look at it, look at the price, and quickly review who it would be for, who it would fit and whether the price matches the quality. You are easily irritated by shoppers with #1, #2, and #4 personalities. You often compete with other shoppers of #3 personality...sometimes racing each other to prime sale items. You are extremely exhausted when you return to your car. You often require coffee for revival.
4. You enjoy shopping with a passion. You hit every store in the mall and every corner of every store. You personally hold each item in each store. You smile at everyone and say "please," "Thank You," and "excuse me," often. You frequently buy items that you don't need because they are on sale. You buy Christmas gifts in March. You buy Birthday, anniversary and Hannukah gifts just because you can...often you don't have a recipient in mind, you just buy the gifts and plan to make room for them somewhere in your house. You lose track of the time and often forget to eat or drink. Your endorphins are pumping and you are totally revived by the end of the shopping day. You are unaware of other personality types while shopping, nothing irritates you and you don't understand when friends turn you down for a day of shopping.
I am a #3, which explains my dread of the upcoming Holidays!

Yep--I'd say I'm most like #3, but I can tend toward #4. Hmmm, I bet I can guess which one you are!
