I might be back...we'll see

The birth of a new Blog (six lit(erate) chicks--link is in the side bar, has given me the itch to revive my blog. It might only be because I'm on vacation and experiencing the itch for a creative outlet. The true test will be when I get home, and have to juggle my time between, work, exercise, TV (hee hee) and keeping up with facebook...we'll see how much time I have for blogging then.

I will attempt a quick update on my life:

VACATION:
Dennis and I are vacationing in Fredericksburg, Tx. We arrived here Saturday March 14 and we leave Saturday March 21. Dennis is riding in the 19th annual Hell Week (bicycling) and I am relaxing. I have been sleeping in every morning (YAY), exercising every mid-morning instead of after work (YAY), but I have not had as many chances to read as I had hoped (NAY). I am trying to finish Breaking Dawn but have had quite a few unexpected but not altogether unwelcome interruptions. I had planned (and looked forward to) a lot of "alone" time on this vacation but that hasn't been happening. I should be learning by now that when hanging with someone as "sociable" as my husband that I cannot expect alone time!

BOOTCAMP:
Dennnis and I completed a 9 week bootcamp at the DAHLC (Mayo Gym). Essentially it was a comprehensive nutrition and fitness class that met twice a week for 9 weeks. We had group workouts and "missions" to complete each week (assigned workouts and food logging). At the end of the 9 weeks I had lost 10 pounds( a bit less on our home scale) and Dennis had lost 17. I have new knowledge under my belt which will hopefully allow me to lose 20 more pounds and keep it off. We have followup measurements (high tech fat%, VO2 etc) at 12, 48 and 64 weeks.

AMERICAN IDOL:
Yes I am still watching american idol and I am upset that I missed the first half of last night's show. We had a Hell Week Banquet last night and I started watching at Alexis. Of the last half of the performers I was most impressed with Matt, even though I have heard him sound better. I was dissapointed in Danny, he picked the wrong song and sounded flat to me. Alexis was okay, but has sounded better. I have been trying to find something online to watch the first half but nothing has been updated with the new performances yet. Of the final clips at the end of the show I think Kris probably sounded the best and Michael or Scott the worst...but who knows.

SIX LIT(erate) CHICKS:
This is the blog of our Book Club. Feel free to check it out if you're interested in what goes on in the book club that I have been a member of for almost 4 years.

For not watching the whole show, you came up with the same conclusions as me! Michael and Scott were bottom. Kris (or maybe Matt or Anoop) at the top. I didn't like Danny's choice of song either. And everyone else was okay. Have fun on your va-ca!
