American Idol top 7

Okay, I'll try to insert a bit more verbage in here tonight for this is a blog afterall...

Tonight the contestants are singing music from movies. I love movies! Their mentor is Quentin Tarentino. Quentin Tarentino has some very strange movies. Have you seen Pulp Fiction? Wierd.

Anyway here is the synopsis from the evening:

1. Allison: I Don't Want to Miss a Thing from Armegeddon. I give her an A. I really liked her version of this song. I almost like it better than Aerosmiths version believe it or not. I saw this movie and I did like it very much.

2. Anoop: Everything I Do I Do For you from Robin Hood. I gave him an A-. This was actually my personal favorite of all of his performances thus far. I haven't been an Anoop fan, but he actually did a great job with this song. I saw the movie and I liked it.

3. Adam: Born To Be Wild from Easy Rider. I gave him an A+ of course. I loved his manic version of the song and it made me want to get up and dance like a crazy woman around my living room. I like that Adam is always reminding me of all of these old songs that I love. I saw the movie a long time ago, but it wasn't my favorite...not a fan of westerns.

4. Matt: Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman from Don Juan DeMarco. I gave him an A, and I disagreed with the judges. I thought he did a great job with the song, I love when he plays the piano and sings. I remember when Chris Daughtry sang this song season 5, and I thought he did better than Matt, but I am still a big fan of Matt! I haven't seen the movie.

5. Danny: Endless Love from Endless Love. I gave him a B+. He started out rushing a bit and was ahead of the beat...half way through the song he recovered and did a great job. I wish he'd have picked a different song. I did see the movie but it's been so long ago that I don't remember whether I liked it or not.

6. Kris: I Don't Know You from Once. I gave him a B+. I've only heard the song once or twice but I love it. I think I love it more after hearing Kris's version of it. I think he was a bit pitchy in places, and I think he could have done a bit more with the song. He wasn't nearly as bad as what Randy said, but not quite as good as Kara said he was either. I still feel that his best performance was country week when he sang To Make You Feel My Love. I haven't seen the movie.

7. Lil: Theme From The Rose from The Rose. I gave her a B. I thought her vocals sounded off and she was pitchy but I liked this song better than some of her others. I thought Simon was hard on her and I'm glad she said something to him. I have seen the movie and it's just okay. I love the song though. In fact it was played at my first wedding.

It was cool to see Katie Couric in the audience. I love her new 'do. Overall I was disappointed in all of the song choices tonight. When I thought of "songs from movies" I honestly didn't come up with any of these!

I think Lil is probably going home tomorrow night.

Speaking of tomorrow night I guess Miley Cyrus will be singing...Huh? Also Jennifer Hudson...I'm looking forward to hearing Jennifer sing.

Once again, I agree with you tons! I'm just too lazy to blog it all! I need to step up my game next week with my AI post!
