...there were 5 individuals. They didn't know each other, they had never crossed paths with each other. One was a 23 year old newlywed from Arkansas named Kris. There was also a 16 year old high school student and marathon runner from Los Angeles. Then we have Matt, the 23 year old dualing pianist from Kalamazoo, MI. We must not forget Danny, a 28 year old church youth music director from Milwaukee, WI. Finally we have Adam, a 26 year old stage actor from Los Angeles.
Each one of these five made a life changing decision during the summer of 2008 and that was to step out of their comfort zones and audition for American Idol. Each of these five outsang, out performed and outsailed through the competition, rising out of obscurity and into the hearts of all American Idol fans everywhere. I am glad that they auditioned and I am blessed to have witnessed their talent.
Tonight we have to say good bye to either Matt or Adam. Matt being in the bottom two isn't really a surprise. Adam on the other hand is a big surprise. I just assumed that Adam would be in the finale. I know I've said this many times but I really like these five kids. I am so happy that these 5 tried out and got as far as they did. I would love to meet them face to face and have a conversation with them. I may have to consider getting tickets for the tour.
Okay, so Adam is safe and Matt is gone. Darn it. I will miss Matt. What a talented kid.

Fun format for this post--I like it. You know, I wasn't really surprised to see Adam in the bottom two.
